| WELCOME INFORMATIONS ABOUT OUR CHOIR
The "Cappella Musicale ALBINO PEROSA" from Mortegliano is a choir composed of about 30 members with mixed voices, who started their activity in 1978.
The name ALBINO PEROSA dates back to the 1st January 1998. The choir’s first name was "Cappella Musicale Jacopo Tomadini".
The repertoire of this group is based on pieces of music from the Renaissance, Romantic and Contemporaneus choral literature. Time is also dedicated to international folklore.
The choir has held about 300 exhibitions in many places of Friuli Venezia giulia and outside our Region.
It takes place in many international concerns, such as "C.A. Seghizzi" in Gorizia in 1983 and "Guido d'Arezzo" in Arezzo in 1985.
In 1983 it won the first Prize at the "National Exhibition" in Vittorio Veneto.
It has taken a part in various international competitions. For example in Aosta, Venezia, Volterra, Alghero.
In 1985 the choir was invited to Switzerland to take part in a party for Fruilian people. For 5 years it was invited in Greece to take part in many choral competitions (Kardista, Cefalonia, Preveza, Atene, Pireo).
During Bach’s 300 year birthday celebrations the choir participated in the realisation of his “Opera Omnia”. In the same year it has represented "Udine mille e non più mille" an Opera for choir, orchester and theatre with the music of Albino Perosa.
An L.P. was recordered for "Leumann-Casa del Padre" and in 1986 the choir recordered another LP based on the music of Albino Perosa. This LP was produced by "Pro Civitate Christiana" of Assisi.
With the District of Udine in 1991 the choir had a cooperation in the realisation of the "Mozart Project" and in 1992 for the Rossini Project it performed the "Petite Messe Solennelle".
In 1995 and in 1998 the choir sang in St.Peter’s Basilic of Rome during the "Capitolina Mass". In 1996 it took part in the realization of "Le tre visitazioni" an Opera with lirics of Pietro Biasatti and music of Albino Perosa. In 1998-1999 it performed the "Messiah" by G.F.Haendel with the "Orchestra Giocosa" of Triest under the direction of Severino Zannerini.
In 2000 with the contribute of "District of Udine" the choir was able to carry out the "Mozart-Cordans", Perosa and Bach projects.
In 2001, based on a cooperation with the choir “G.Tomat” of Spilimbergo, it has performed a serial of Concerts through all Friuli with traditional songs written, elaborated and overwritted by Albino Perosa. The success of this cooperation has permitted the realisation of a Compact Disc with the songs of this concerts. The C.D. has been published with the contribute of District of Udine and of the municipalities of the “Middle Friuli”. |
